For the golfer there is no shortage of golf courses in this area. There are two link courses bordering the Atlantic Ocean in Sligo. Castle Dargan Golf club, an 18 hole course, is located in Ballygawley approx six miles from Sligo, www.castledargan.com. Carrick-on-Shannon golf club another 18 hole course, located approx four miles from Carrick on the N4 towards Boyle. The back nine holes overlook Drumharlow Lake and the Boyle River and present some spectacular scenery. www.carrickgolfclub.ie There are two golf courses in Enniskillen which is less than an hours drive away from Drumkeeran. There are three 18 hole courses in Cavan which are also less that one hours drive from Drumkeeran. Cavan Golf Club, one of the oldest clubs in Ireland, is approx 2 miles from Cavan Town www.cavangolf.ie Farnham Estate Golf Course is a Jeff Howes designed parkland golf course opened in 2008, is on the grounds of the Radisson Blu Farnham Estate Hotel and Spa and is just down the road from Cavan Golf club www.farnhamestate.ie . Finally there is the well known Slieve Russell Hotel Golf Course, an 18 hole championship course located just two miles outside Ballyconnell on the Belturbet road. www.slieverussell.ie
Also in Cavan is the Blacklion 9 hole golf course which is located on the Manorhamilton road as you approach Blacklion.
